During extreme weather, you can let your faucets drip. This will keep the water moving and help reduce pressure build up that often leads to pipes bursting. Number three, optimize indoor temperatures. Keep the air temperature in your home in a consistent temperature of sixty eight degrees or warmer. Keeping the house warm helps to keep pipes near the exterior walls from freezing. Tip four, allow warm air to circulate. One of the easy ways to protect your pipes is to open up the cabinet doors under your sinks. This allows warm air from your home to circulate around the pipes helping to keep them from freezing.
